The design goal is to construct a container system element (tank) that will provide a safe and long term storage of a given chemical. Good practices in design dictate a consideration for estimating the longevity of the storage vessel in a given set of parameters. Preparing the basis for estimation involves knowledge of both the chemical's potentials for corrosion or other adverse effects on potential vessel materials. </span></p> <p align="left"><span style="font-size:18px; font-family:lucida sans unicode,lucida grande,sans-serif">Once a vessel is purchased and installed, a projected life span should be placed on a repeat calendar of projected equipment life expectations, monitoring you process design's effects on all equipment and plumbing, assessment must be maintained and progression confirmed through annual component inspections.</span></p> <p align="left"><span style="font-family:lucida sans unicode,lucida grande,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;">Chemical concentrations, pressures and temperatures are critical to tank design, these elements form a matrix that determines the resistance potential of a given material of construction. </span></span></p> <p align="left"><span style="font-family:lucida sans unicode,lucida grande,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;">Other considerations in design include, but should not be limited to: Chemicals that may produce heat (exothermic reaction) when brought together, chemicals that are more aggressive as a result of being compounded (a given chemical recipe), compound characteristics must be studied to determine the correct material of construction for a given chemical tank.
